Eva Whittington Self Eva is a resource for Christian Women's groups as a speaker at events, conferences, retreats and other venues.

Eva is originally from Concord, North Carolina (just outside of Charlotte). On March 2, 1978 at the age of 17, she was in an automobile accident which left her paralyzed from the hips down.

She received a B.A. from Gardner-Webb College in Music Education in 1984. Upon graduation from college, she worked as an area representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for eight years. She traveled throughout the Southeast sharing her testimony as well as leading music at area camps. In 1988 she made a recording entitled The Old Violin, a collection of Christian songs. In the spring of 1999, her biography May Bell’s Daughter was released by Thomas Nelson Publishers.

Eva is active in her local church and leads a weekly women’s Bible Study. She has served as a speaker and worship leader for various women’s retreats and conferences for Focus on the Family, including “Renewing the Heart.” She is the wife of attorney Andrew Self and the mother of Abigail and Audrey. They reside in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
